Christmas Crisis Intervention Fund Launched

We are pleased to be able to run our Christmas Crisis Intervention Fund again this year. While we provide Crisis Intervention support all year round we know that the Christmas period can be particularly challenging for families already struggling.

It can seem like everyone around us is having the ‘perfect’ Christmas. We are inundated with images of happy families, festive feasts, mountains of presents and excited children. It can be hard to escape the overwhelming pressure.

For many of the veteran families we support they must make the difficult decision to either heat their home or pay for food, meaning there is no money for the latest toys or gifts.

Working with a select number of SSAFA Branches, as well as Radio Clyde Cash 4 Kids we are providing a Christmas Crisis Intervention Fund to families who are struggling to provide these essentials over the Christmas period.

Over the last 18 months the number of families coming to us for support affected by extreme financial crisis and poverty has more than doubled. That’s why partnerships like these ones are so important in helping us to reach the most vulnerable families and allowing them to access the support they need, when they need it most.

If you, or someone you know feel that you may be eligible for support please contact your local SSAFA Branch, or RCET directly on 0131 322 7350 or by emailing [email protected]

If you want to support us to reach more struggling veteran families this winter please consider giving us a gift this Christmas so that we can continue to be there when it matters for families.
