The safety and health of our children, families and our supporters is of the utmost importance to RCET. As a result, we have taken the decision to postpone our Evening with Christopher Guild Fundraising Event on the 12th of June at the Caledonian Club in London in light of the growing concern around the long-term impact of COVID-19 across the UK.
We are disappointed that our supporters will not get to hear Christopher play at this extra special event as many of those who planned to attend were involved in the charity when Christopher received support for his own studies. Christopher had planned to play a medley of rarely heard Scottish piano music shining a spotlight on a hidden area of our national history which we are sure would have gone down well with all those who had purchased tickets or pledged to attend.
We have been closely following advice from the Scottish and UK Governments and internationally regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of the likelihood of prolonged disruption taking place and uncertainty for individuals across the UK we have made the decision to postpone our event in June. We understand that many supporters may not want to commit to an event at the moment in such uncertain times, and equally we do not want to potentially put our supporters, and particularly those with pre-existing conditions, in a risky situation if coronavirus continues to spread across the UK.
We will be getting in touch with everyone who has expressed interest in the event or purchased tickets to organise refunds and to provide more information. We will endeavour to work with Christopher, the Caledonian Club and our supporters across London to rearrange this event at the earliest opportunity later in the year.
