Last year, challenge event participants took part in the Kiltwalk, Forth Rail Bridge Abseil and Total Warrior raising more than £30,000 in donations for this unique charity; more than double the charity’s original target.
Among the fundraisers were a group from the Royal Scots DG at Leuchars military base, staff from Army and Naval Welfare teams, Royal Naval and Army families from Helensburgh and Penicuik, staff from the Standard Life Armed Forces Network, the Edinburgh Universities Officer Training Corps and the charity’s Chairman Malcolm Noble who turned 70 last year.
Building on this success, RCET have secured charity places at many more challenge events all across Scotland throughout the year.
RCET Fundraiser Matthew Middler said “We really do have an event for everyone in 2018. New events this year include the Edinburgh and Glasgow Fun Runs and Dog Jogs, Tour de Lauder Sportive, the famous Edinburgh Marathon and Half-Marathon, as well as the Scottish Men’s 10k and many more”.
