The Heroes of St Valery - 80th Anniversary
At 10:00am on the 12th June 2020, pipers up and down Scotland will take to their doorsteps to play the haunting pipers march, Heroes of Valery, in tribute to those who fought and fell at “the forgotten Dunkirk”.
This will be the first ever national commemoration event for this important Battle, and we hope to see thousands of pipers and other musicians take to their doorsteps for a moving tribute. The event is being organised by leading Scottish Armed Forces charities RCET: Scotland’s Armed Forces Children’s Charity, Poppyscotland and Legion Scotland.
Please join us in remembering the brave men of the 51st Highland Division and support the vital work of these charities today by registering here
Whether you’re a passionate piper, masterful musician or simply want to stand proud and shine a light of remembrance on the brave men who gave their lives or were captured and taken thousands of miles across to Eastern Europe where they remained until the end of the War.
By supporting this event, you can pay respect and help raise awareness of the 3 charities involved; RCET: Scotland’s Armed Forces Children’s Charity, Poppyscotland and Legion Scotland. You can make a donation towards our vital work here.
With your help we hope that at 10am on the 12th of June pipers, and other musicians, across the world will take to their doorsteps to play the retreat: The Heroes of St Valery.
