We are pleased to hear that Major General Bruce is the new Governor of Edinburgh Castle!

Major General Alistair Bruce (Left) & Major General Mike Riddell-Webster (Right)

The handover took place on Monday the 24th of June between the current incumbent, Major General Mike Riddell-Webster, and the new Governor, Major General Alastair Bruce of Crionaich.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Major General Riddell-Webster for the support that he has shown RCET over his posting including hosting our Impact Reception in the Great Hall in March of this year.

We are delighted to also welcome Major General Bruce to his posting. RCET has been lucky enough to have his support during his time as Colonel of the London Scottish Regiment who have supported the charity over a number of years including through successful collaboration on the Scots in Great War London publication.

Major General Bruce is also a full-time reserve officer, a point worth mentioning and celebrating today on Reserves Day, previously known as ‘Uniform to Work Day’. Its purpose is to highlight the valuable contributions many members of civilian society make to the Armed Forces in their spare time. Reservists balance their civilian lives and jobs with their military career. Look out for reservists in your workplace who may be wearing their Armed Forces uniforms today!
